Whipps Cross Hospital Radio won another Gold award in 2015 at the annual HBA Awards.
This time it was in the Best Station Promotion category and the entry was a promotion for the station using voices of patients.
The music track was recorded for us by production company S2Blue but was originally used in the 1960s for pirate ship Radio London and was commonly known as ‘Big Lil’ – we have no idea why! It uses a device called a Sonovox to create electronic voice.
The judges said of the entry ‘Some of the listeners were an absolute gift for this promo! An amusing promo that met its brief.’
A new wall may be needed to display all the awards!
Here is the audio of the promotion which should hopefully make you smile!
